User Feedback :: help!! i cant boot
hello im new to linux all together. i made a boot cd and tested it on a old pc and it works great, but when i try to boot it on my new pc everything seem fine untill it starts to uncompress or whatever it does and then the screen just goes blank and nothing happens
i have a hp pavilion intel celeron 2.93 megaherts 512 mb ram
and nvidia geforce mx 4000. any help would be great
Try this boot command:
fb800x600
NOT
dsl fb800x600
Then choose the "xfbdev" server if prompted.
thank but its wasnt the problem i should of check the other topics first. i put in "dsl acpi=off" and it worked
I can't boot either, but I think it's a problem with the CD burn. I'll download it and burn again, but I got to wondering: what's the difference between the dsl.iso and dslsyslinux.iso? (And yup, I did search the forums and found nothing).
I guess what I'm wondering is, is the syslinux one an alternative, or some kind of addon?
It's there in the search...you may need to search farther back than the default, and use "AND" if you're seaching for multiple words.
