User Feedback :: No chance to start

Hi there

I just got DSL 2.0 and burned it on a cd. After inserting the cd into the cdrom and a restart, DSL starts fine untill the automatic hardwareconfig comes up. After that the system hangs and i can restart only with the reset button on the computer. Any one knows what could be wrong? Try booting with the

fb1024x768

command at the boot prompt. Do NOT type

dsl fb1024x768

instead, just

fb1024x768

Also, you might want to try

failsafe xsetup

and choose Xfbdev when prompted

if that doesn't work

I never have used fb1024x768 or something like this ( this res. is to "small on my good old 21" monitor :;):

). I tried : toram, xpert, dma, noapm, noapic and failsafe so far but nothing helped.

It would be sad if dsl will not run. I'd like to use it as a lfs/gentoo or similar replacement.

Try adding

nohwsetup

and/or

nofstab

to the list

Also, do you have BIOS 1009 or newer?

Hi I do have the same problem. And also tried to start with those parameters.
