Other Help Topics :: I can't load anything from cd or floppy...

I've searched in a few different ways (using the elf file manager thing, or whatever it's called.. using RunApp and browsing.. etc), but whenever I look in the floppy or cdrom directory, there's nothing there. I've tried the mounting tool, but it gave me errors. For the cdrom, it said somethin' like "No medium found", and for the floppy, I forget what it said.

I've played music cds on DSL already, and the mount/unmount thing worked once before.. also, when I played a music cd, the cdrom in the mount tool was  "unmounted".

Also, I can boot from floppy, and then it can read a boot cd after that (which's how I installed DSL).. but yeah, I can't get any apps or files off of a data cd or floppy.

Anyone know why?..

Are you using DSL 3.2? The mount tool is broken for floppies and cd's in that version....

Tried mounting/umounting manually? sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/auto/cdrom
sudo umount /mnt/auto/cdrom

I think I'm using 3.3.. whatever the latest version is. But I'll try mounting them manually.

With mounting manually, will I have to remount after each reboot?

Yep... Or better to say after you umount and remove a disk, you'll have to mount it again when you put it back in...
I tried mounting in Aterminal, and I got this:

Quote
mount: relocation error: mount: undefined symbol: blkid_known_fstype

Then I opened the mounting tool, and it said it was mounted (somehow..).. so I browsed to /cdrom, but still, nothing showed up... is there some other way I'm supposed to get to the cd's files?
