DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: take away, put in

I, too miss Scite, but I think the reason that John took it out and replaced it with Beaver is the fact that Beaver is smaller than Scite.

But, IMHO, Beaver is not yet complete enough to be the stand alone editor that DSL needs.

Oh, and one more thing. Please please please update cardmgr with the next release of DSL. It fixes the bug with the cardbus slots on my laptop.

Ok. No need to start making a scite.dsl Scite will be restored in the next release.

I too have learned to love Scite with use, but wonder if theres an easy way to strip out much of the excess languages support which is overkill for my modest needs.

I look at this thread with some amusement...

I remember that I whined when Nedit was replaced with Scite is DSL... I preferred Nedit because it had the "Open Previous files" menu option and the Bash syntax highlighting actually worked properly unlike Scite.

Beaver has an Nedit-style "Previous" menu option but seems to be lacking in other areas.

I guess that happiness is relative

FYI, I support the return of Scite unless there is really great killer app that would be a better use of the new free space.

And as long as it's my time to whine...

Why is the unmount command not in DSL? Is this to save space, or some other reason. I know about the mount.app, but there are times it would be nice to just unmount. Could you put it back in or can I add it myself somehow?
