DSL Tips and Tricks :: How can i disable booting penguin logo



Please help.
I want to disable the display of penguin logo when I booting the dsl.

Why? What's wrong with you? That small penguin is so cute!

AFAIK, the only way to do that is via a kernel recompile, editing the linuxrc file, editing the isolinux.cfg, or issuing a special boot prompt. In the script linuxrc, housed in the minirt.gz file, you can clear the screen and hose tux. You can change isolinux.cfg so the default boot sends out a 'vga=normal,' or you can just type dsl vga=normal at the prompt. I'll leave the kernel compile otions for fresher brains :)

if your having an issue with text scrolling off the bottom of your screen, then the easiest fix is to use the correct vga=7xx cheat code, you can find yours by booting from CD and pressing F3 at the DSL Screen and Boot Prompt
If you just dislike the logo you can always replace it with another one, totally black for example.
