Nevermind, I got it. In case anyone else has the same problem on their thinkbook 385 xd, heres what I did:
1. I pressed f3 when I saw he command line that should appear when you run DSL, mine was grey, I'm not sure what the technical name for this command line is.
2. I typed in dsl xsetup.
3. Follow the instructions on screen, and select the xfbdev option
4. Follow the rest of the on screen instructions, and answer all of the questions
5. You should be good, and to get to that boot up menu (again not sure on the technical name), click on the desktop (not on an app or file) and go to setup, then x setup.
Sorry for the lack of technical terms in this, hope it helps anyone who has the same problem as I did.
