Hi---great to see a new release in the works. I downloaded 4.11rc1 and burned it to a cdrom with k3b. The slowest I could get my desktop to burn it was 16x. The disk loads great on my old compaq laptop (k6II 433 Mhz, 192M Ram) and seems to be happy there. So far, everything I have tried seems to work.
I am not having such good luck with my newer machines, an AthlonII-64 and an Atom Dual Core 64 bit machine. The Athlon box starts to boot and goes looking for the cdrom, can't locate it and goes into a non-functional shell...no keyboard response, nothing). The Atom box displays 4 penguins and stops right there. If I try to run the Atom box in expert mode, it reports a keyboard controller error repetitively, non-stop. Of course these are not the targets of this distro, but not sure why they don't run at all.

Later: Tried on a neighbor's late model HP laptop with dual core pentium and had the same problem as with the Athlon above...hung after trying to find the cdrom.
