The ARM-ies are coming!

Nice to see DSL is back. As just about the only complete suite in its size range, this has to be a perfect choice to run on one of the new miniscule, low power ARM boards of which RPi has received most publicity. Even better, if there is still a coder out there with assembler skills, a re-write for ARM would slay the field (and probably the coder, too!). At present, only Kolibri offers that ultimate option. Where did all those wannabe assembler geeks go from the 80's?!

I have no plans to do anything ARM at this time. I do believe TinyCore is tinkering with ARM right now.

I still think tinycore is debating on porting a version to the ARM chip series. Is there a point in time you might consider ARM development or even have community help with it?(Just wondering also love DSL so far.)

Its possible, right now I'm mapping out the plan for the larger/more modern hardware compatible DSL. I see this taking up a lot of my time in the near future.

I got my hands on an R Pi here in Germany. It is a neat gadget. There is a lot of activity with the R Pi. Raspian is a port of Debian that is very functional.
Coding in assembler for the Arm processor is not trivial. The available open source tools are not as mature or as available as they are for the x86. From what I understand, the Raspian developers have over $3000 invested in equipment needed to for Raspian's development.

Hi kobzar, sorry for the ambiguity. I'm just one guy working on DSL part time, so its hard to make any commitments.

Haven't got my hands on a Raspberry Pi yet.
It all sounds very exciting!

We need your feedback as a member of YNKF, what is uncomfortable about the forum gate? Or what would you like to have? Any suggestions are welcome.
