I love that I can redeem an old  Compaq Presario 1260, with 160mb ram, 333mhz processor, 4gb hard drive, thank you!  But it would be great if I could also find a family history proram that works.  If there is a way to install a DOS emulator, then I could use a DOS Personal Ancestral File.  Anyone heard of anything?  Thanks, Mary

"Lifelines", a text based geneology program for Linux and "dosbox", a DOS emulator are both in the "applications" section of the MyDSL package respository (http://distro.ibiblio.org/damnsmall/mydsl/apps/). Both are very old versions though.

You can grab them from the above link and install them with the "mydsl-install" command, or use the MyDSL Browser in DSL (In the DSL menu under MyDSL>MyDSL Browser).
