I am a Captain on a tugboat and I have the computer on the boat well 2 but want to transfer files from one running winblows that has a aircard with the internet to my usb and then be able to run them or put them in my back up tar I hope I have not ranted to much I can go into more detail if you like buit did not want to yak away heheheheh

For backup/restore help, you could read the startup dillo page afaik, or see the wiki ( http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki....ings.3F )
For adding files (without the internet) you can save them on your usb stick first with another machine, as you have suggested.
