Hi again
I've installed muse using 'apt-get install muse' from the old repositories. When I need to start Muse I have to go to usr/bin to open it.
When I reboot the machine, the app is no longer there ( in usr/bin). Sorry for such a newbie question - is there a way of backing it up easily so it's there next time?

Thanks for your patience with a noob!

Use deb2dsl script it is in the dsl-dpkg.dsl. This will convert a .deb into a .dsl and then store the results with your other extensions. You probably used dpkg-restore which loaded dsl-dpkg.dsl in order for you  to have apt-get and dpkg.

Curious how you downloaded it.  Did you have to install perl, libqt-dev, etc, first?

No Jpeters I didn't. I just did an -apt get install muse from the old repositories. I think it installed a number of things a long the way as there was loadsa stuff scrolling up screen!
I've got Muse playing midi through Alsa ( I think as it's set to 'Alsa' inside Muse) and it's very impressive on such a small distribution. Unfortunately I stil am trying to get fluidsynth working with it :(
