Recently I started tinkering around with DSL, and was surprised by it's performance - I really like it. But, as I happen to use it on older PCs with SCSI storage devices, booting DSL from a SCSI, have a floppy with the appropriate kernel module for your controller at hand, and type in configurations. I found this somewhat annoying, so I my hope is, that kernel modules for the PCI controllers from Adaptec and Symbios (which seem to be the vast majority) should be re-integrated into the distro. I would suggest aic7xxx.o and sym53c8xx_2.o.
