I have used Knoppix before, and the cursor is not suppose to be like this.

The cursor moves twice as slow.  It should only take one slide across the mouse pad to get the cursor from the far left to the far right.  But in DSL, it only takes me half way.

Can this be fixed?

Yes, and DSL is not KNOPPIX. http://www.patoche.org/LTT/X/00000048.html

Don't forget to add it to your .xinitrc so you don't have to do it every time, just put it with dillo and torsmo so it will be set up no matter what desktop you use->

torsmo 2>/dev/null &

it shouldn't behave like that. i would check you mouse first and
do another xsetup.sh (after you quit the window manager).
