As AwPhuch was getting at, there's a better way. You leave XP alone and use Qparted to shrink the XP partition, then use cfdisk to creat new Linux partition(s), then use a frugal grub install to format, install DSL, and write the grub bootloader to the Master Boot Record. Grub will boot XP just fine. There are dual boot install instructions all over the internet. I know some of them are outdated, so it can be confusing, but making a dual boot computer has gotten very easy these days. http://linuxhelp.blogspot.com/2006....of.html http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/index.en.html
