Hi guys,

I have a JVC MPXP7210, on which i want to install dsl.
Due to the laptops lack o\f cd drive I opted for the usb via floppy boot approach. However when in dsl after a successful boot cfdisk and fdisk both give
"FATAL ERROR: cannot open disk drive" when i attempt to partition the hard drive.
Also the hard drive is recognised as hdb instead of hda.

Any ideas?

The Hard drive installs (debian and frugal) don't work.

Would appreciate your help

Paolo

Make sure you have root privileges...
i.e.
sudo cfdisk /dev/hdb

Did you reboot after partitioning?
