I have the same disc that I can boot just fine on my dell laptop, but on my desktop it dies when trying to boot the kernel. If i just let it boot itself, I get the little penguin & it stops there. If I try dsl vga=normal base toram it says uncompressing linux... Ok, booting the kernel. and that is where it stops... same disk will boot just fine on my dell latitude c600
I dont know if hardware is an issue here but here is what I have on the desktop
2.8ghz p4 1.5gb ram (cant remember the brand I bought) soyo dragon 2 moboard nvidia fx5700 agp 1 ide drive/ 1 sata drive
