Basically, I followed the procedure for connecting to the internet that is found in the help menu.
System>>net setup>>dialup ppp config>>ppp config utility.
I then set up the various properties for my isp and tried every port.
The bios is set with the serial port enabled,2f8l,irq 3.
part of the screen shot that comes up when I try to dial contains... "can't get terminal parameters input/output error" "missing kernal or user mod driver" "Connect script failed"
I can copy out the entire message if that would be more helpful.

Note...I am running Ubuntu on another machine, but this is a older box that has only a 5 gb harddisk that I am giving to a friend that does not know how to turn on a computer. So I want it to be stable and fully up and running when I give it to him....Thanks...R.
