From a Google search, your chipset appears to be Prism Frisbee-based, so a dedicated Linux driver would be from the prism54 team at http://prism54.org I see on their development forum that they are discussing this adaptor but have not determined its inner workings yet.
So, yes, ndiswrapper would be worth a try ... and if you're prepared to pay for a driver - on the Linuxant DriverLoader website the USR5422 is listed on the changelog page, which may suggest their driver will work. https://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/wlan/changes.php
