I have a Thinkpad 755cx with no on-board cdrom, 75mhz, 800mb HDD.  I am intending to install DSL 3.0.1, and have downloaded the boot floppy and pcmcia floppy images.  I'm not sure how to get the laptop to access the pcmcia-cdrom.  The laptop currently has no OS on it, but is partitioned, with a swap partition added.

Any suggestions?

While I'm not too familiar with installing DSL on laptops, I would NOT recommend using nopcmcia :-)

 I appreciate the response from Ramik and the fine suggestions.  Sorry it took so long to respond.

My laptop tells me it cannot find the BIOS.  But when I attempt to install the BIOS (downloaded from Lenova/IBM site) it tells me I need a fully charged battery.  My battery is currently dead and I don't wish to purchase a new one unless I can affectively use this machine.  Any suggestions on installing a BIOS without going to the extent of purchasing a new battery?

i had a ibm 380xd with a dead battery and i updates the bios with the dead battery... it told me to make sure the battery was charged up... but mine wasn't. It tells u to make sure its charged up incase power goes out or there is a surge... cause if you loose power during a bios flash your in trouble.
