Just thought I'd try install the appropriate modules for the Lucent 56k modem in my IBM Thinkpad 240.
I looked here: ltmodem
It lists debian packages available. I took the apt-get route, narrowing down the kernel version to the one I think was correct 2.4.26.......
When I tried apt-getting the drivers, the main error was along the lines of:
"Drivers compiled using gcc version 3 Kernel compiled using gcc version 2
For sake of crash prevention Exiting"
Is there a way to get around this or is there an easier route to get the modem working
I'll admit I'd probably never use the modem, but you never know
