Hi,
Just to give some feedback... My picture frame is on the wall and is showing images!!! Thanks to mshilly for the remastering link, khagberg for the detail installation of zgv and scripts... I managed to remaster DSL to my own variant including zgv! It was impossible for me to run zgv as mydsl module... the 32 MB or ram (or my configuration - frugal) did not allow it - the installations were simply freezing the machine. The remastering of the CD solved that nicely!
On the mechanical part, I attached the hardware with velcro to the back of the frame. I also screwed 4 screws in the frame (2 on the bottom edge, and 1 on each side) and used them to hang the frame on a steel thread resting on the screws - it turned out very nicely. Since the laptop I used did not have usb connection I have PC wifi card in it, and am starting ssh on start up... so if I want to change pictures I just log in with my ssh client and upload them. The most important part is now since I installed frugal - I can just cut the power and then switch it back on again... and the frame starts! Looked at some of the pictures I took while making it, but don't find them that educational... let me know if you need any and I can try to find place and post them.
Thanks again to every one! I have just gotten myself and old and brocken compaq 1260 that screams for digital fireplace... I will test and poste questions, results.
