One option:
Press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and when you get to the prompt type "xsetup".  You can change your mouse here.  I have no idea what you're using for a pointing device, so this might not work.  You may end up needing to install XFree86.

EDIT: oh...i just noticed it's X dsl.  That is not supported here, so you might want to try the x-dsl website.
