If you use the fully enhanced desktop, you can also use the drive mount dock app at the right corner of the desktop.  Use the arrows to change the drive until you see /dev/sda1 on the applet and then click the mount button at the lower left of the applet.  It looks like a screw or something.   One caveat, it may not mount as read-write, so you may be better off w/ using a root xterm and mounting at the cli.
