No, I mean, if you use damn small Linux, and mount the windows partition, couldnt you just read anything you wanted? It seems like that might be a bit dangerous. Could I just insert the cd and have access to all partitions freely, albeit without write permission (No, this is not wiht a view to doing anything of the sort, just in theory ;)? With the apps thing, I meant if you wanted to install something new to use with DSL, could you just have a small partition, or do it in the ram or something, or would you have to do a hard disk intstall.
I have one more question. My current laptop I am going to leave out in Germany where I have broadband (was going to say DSL, then realised it might cause confusion ;) to act as a webserver. It is running apache on Mandrake Linux. I am going to enable remote root logins. Using damn small, could I remote login from damn small to edit my webpage on a computer with an NE2000 card that otherwise runs XP? This would be very useful, because I will probably get a new laptop for christmas, and dont really want to install Linux on it. (I have a bad history with Linux/Windows dual boots ;)
Any help much appreciated!
