so far i am happy with 0.8.0 to.
it has knoppix_dir= in the boot options, so i can have more versions of my frugal installs.
using j2re1.4.2.uci and firefox.uci i was able to view the sites important me.
Then i tried a Flash page.
I had and to download the plugin.
but to my surprise i found it was easy to solve.
i downloaded the pulgin from macromedia extracted the tar.gz and copied the libflashplayer.so and flashplayer.xpi to /opt/.firefox_plugins.
it worked!
Very clever you made a link to the ramdrive.

sorry i dit not look at the /opt directory.
i was so in a hurry to try things.
now i found there is a grab_flash that does the same.
