OK,
I don't know why samba / LinNeighborhood isn't working, but this process DOES work:
1) Get your ip address using the method defined above. 2) In WinXP go to Control Panel -> Performance & Maintenance -> System. Click on the "Computer Name" tab and write down your workgroup name. 3) Go into DSL. From the fluxbox menu, choose Apps -> Net -> smbclient 2) Enter your workgroup, username, password and share name (Example share name: "SharedDocs" with no spaces) and enter the ip address for the "machine" name. 3) Use smbclient like an ftp program for file transfers.
I am sure that LinNeighborhood can work too. I just haven't tried it yet.
