first letme say that I am no linux guro but I do know a good thiing when I see it . DSL is the cliet and it starts on boo-up and students store files locally until the learn to use the server , I chose DSL for its size and ease of use so students are not overwhelmed when they usea linux for the firs time. the server is a SKOLELINUX distro based on Debian of course and they will use it to work on more hardware demanding apps . as they progress and get more comfortable around a computer I might install a window machine and let them access it through vnc (due to budget). and LTSP allows me to use old machines as clients even if they are missing hard drive or cd romm and in some cases without floppies as long as I have a rom bootable NIC or PXE . if anybody has any ideas on how to improve on this proyect i will apreciate it . and so will many kids in school around the world.
