k...I'm back on the same bug i was complaining about before...
The midnight commander thingy was sorta fixed by 1.0 (maybe earlier...i dunno), but i'm still seeing permissions problems. Currently you can start mc as root, close it, and successfully open it as dsl (thank you). However, it seems that you can't open mc as root and then open it as dsl while the root mc is still running. Apparently root is taking control of a tmp file and not allowing dsl to open it? I'm not sure at this point, but it is rather frustrating if you are editing a file as root in mc and want to open up a new instance of mc as dsl....seems you have to close root mc and re-open the file in another program.
EDIT: Maybe it's just a problem with mc occasionally screwing up, but it seems to happen with enough regularity to be a small problem. It seems to happen only the first time, and only if you don't close the root mc at all. If you initially start a root mc, close it, reopen, and then start mc as dsl, things are apparently okay.
