Can you help please?
Run Windows XP pro on 3 pcs. Want to use DSL on one at home. Get error message at boot as follows:- xinit:no such file or directory(errno2) and xinit: no such process (errno3). This appears after: xauth: creating new authority file /home/DSL/ .Xauthority. Giving up.

It will run on the other two machines (business use at work only). All three are installed with XP from the same original windows CD on a corporate license.

I've had precisely the same problem.  Any suggestions?

I'm a newbie, running an (ancient machine (PII 333Mhz 64MB).  Should it be so difficult? :(

Uhm... was it exactly "/home/DSL/ .Xauthority. Giving up.". If so, are you using a RC, or maybe a corrupt disk? ???

System:
eTower 566.12, 32MB RAM, 7GB HD, 200MB swap, 1x USB v.1, Intel 810GFX, Intel 810 Audio.
Recompiled so far: Pretty much everything. I think I'll have to do a remaster to cut the growing bloat off my system.

Saw the earlier reply to Edward.
I dont understand what you mean by "did you do the chksum on the download" Please clarify. I did see this number when I originally downloaded the iso file. What was I supposed to do with it ?
My disc works on two PCs but not the third which happens to be the one I need to use it on. It's a 700mhz Athlon, Via chipset, 512mb PC133 Ram, Geforce graphics card
