it says that i passed an undefined mode number when i hit enter at dsl splash screen

it says video adapter: vesa vga

mode:   ColsxRows:
00  0F00   80x25
00  0F01   80x50

with a bunch more

Enter mode number or 'scan':

Try pressing the F3 key at the boot screen and then try some other video modes like:

dsl vga=771 xsetup

and then choose the xfbdev server when prompted.

modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module fb0
XIO:  fatal IO error 104 ( connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining

then i get command line
dsl@tty1[dsl]$
