I was using knoppix at first, but I wanted a small linux distro that has a built in vnc viewer so I can acess my home computer and work off it and still be working in a linux environment. I know that once I have acess via vnc I have linux right there even in windows but I don't want to have to deal with the lag for every little thing I do in linux. But if the video doesn't work on these machines, it doesn't work. Still a great distro. It does what it has to do so I'll still use it. The messed up video isn't that big of a deal. I'll try it on a few other machines on campus and see what comes up.
