Hi

I did a quick google search and I think you are right.  It appears that machine needs a kernel or driver patch to make use of the whole screen.  You are probably not going to get it working right with generic kernels and drivers.  It sure looks like a nice little laptop to work with anyway.

Here is one link to some info.

Good luck

The problem is Xvesa which is a slimmed down X-server supporting only a few standard resolutions. You need a full Xfree installation which I think is available as a myDSL package.

Thanks for your help guys.

I've installed the full version of XFree86 and set up a XF86Config-4 file, but it still doesn't seem to work, when I reboot, or type 'startx' I get a black screen that slowly fades to full white.

If I hit ctrl-alt-bkspc, there are a few errors
"faiiled to load module pex5.so (module does not exist)"
"failed to load module xie.so ..."
"ATI(0) failed to set up write-combining range (0xfd000000,0x800000)" and so on.
What does this mean?

Thanks
