Hi all. I have a problem with my Lexar Jump Drive Secure 128mb . ww.lexar.com/jumpdrive/jd_secure.html <--- Foto .
I have make a botable pendrive with dsl. Its working fine ,but after 2 days i want to make it normal windows pendrive :). So i run Dsl from live cd and delet all partitions, and make one big 128mb partition FAT32.Then i run winxp and plug in the pendrive.Winxp see the pendrive but dont see the partion in "my computer". So i search google and i find that i must go to administrative tools and disk managment and right click on the pendrive ,click format ,give fat32 or fat and oki. When i click oki its a mesage "Device write protected" and i cant make format or any changes. So i search google another time and i find a program to format masive storage devices "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool".I run it ,set options to format and make Fat partiton i click oki ,and "Device write protected". I was MAD !!! But when i run Dsl or another distro of linux (mandriva ,knopix) the partion its visible. In linux can i make partions of any kind and thers no write protect.I make for example 2 partiotns ,1 was Fat32 , 2 was Win95 Fat32 (LBA), i format them in linux ,because in windows i cant format them.Linux see the partions ,and thers no problem to copy any kind of file to the pendrive in linux. So i run WINXP ,and go to the disk managment and i saw 2 partitons and i was happy :). I click the first one to format ,click oki , and "Device Write Protected" i was MAD :(.In next step i delet all partitions from the pendrive in linux ,because in winxp cant delet them. I run Win xp another time and tried to format the pendrive ,i hit oki and "Device write protected".

Plz help me ,what i must do to make pendrives partitions visible in "my computer" and how to bypass the "write protected" to format them in WinXP.

THIS PENDRIVE DONT HAVE WRITE PROTECT SWITH !!!!

Sory for my english :). Plz Fast HELP !!!.

Try this:

Plug your pendrive into your Windows computer. Open MyComputer or Windows explorer, find the drive and right click on it and select Sharing and Security. Look through the tabs and see if anything looks unusual. I'm not sure what to tell you as this has never happened to me but if you go into the Sharing and Security area, you should be able to override what ever is happening.

Good luck and keep us posted,

But Winxp dont see the pendrives partitons in "my copmuter" or explorer. I have made in Linux 2 partitons another time ,first 50 mb fat16 and second Win95 Fat32 (LBA), i linux they are visible and full functional(coping,deleting....).They are windows partitons so i run Xp and in "my copmuter" thers no partions. So i go to the disk managment in administrative tools. And i see that pendrives partions dont have disk leter and dont have file system alocation examlpe(Fat or NTFS).

I want to format them or give them drives leters but "Device Write protected". But in linux the partitions have system files alocation Fat16 and Win95 Fat32 (LBA) and i can copy files to them.
I can make more fotos if its gona help.
Plz help.

Have you tried to delete the partition in DSL and then leave it as is? If not, go into the pen drive with DSL and delete all partitions and leave them deleted. Once that is done, then open the pen drive using XP and see if it is still write protected.

Hope this helps,
