Hello, new forum user, good while time linux user, decent while time DSL user.

Anyway, I was just wondering how I may change my background (wallpaper) image to an image I have saved to /home/dsl.

I saw the wallpaper tool, and tried dragging and such, but it is either a color selector or pre-used wallpaper section (I am running DSL 2.4).

Actually...just as I was typing this I figured it out (figure I will post it anyway, delete if you want  :D ).

To add images to the wallpaper selector (under right-click, Desktop, Wallpapers, left-click) all you have to do is move your wallpaper image to the directory /home/[user name]/.fluxbox/backgrounds to (what I used was) emelFM as super-user.

That was fun, thanks DSL community   .

It's usually not a good idea to copy/move files into a regular user's home as root, unless you then change ownership of that file to the regular user.  The file will be owned by root, and the regular user will not be able to move, remove, rename, or in some cases even read the file.

How do you move files in linux in the cammand line?  I've never used a distro where I couldn't click and drag, I'm rather much of a noob.

If you want to drag and drop, install rox.dsl.info. rox is a icon based file manager.
