When I'm in the control panel how do I log into root? What is the user name and password for that while running the live cd?
It looks like su will get me there but I've not been able to hit the password.
Sorry, I've done a search but I can't find any specific info. It all tells me that for certain circumstances you have to log into root but doesn't say how.

Try "sudo su".

Also, read the FAW in User Feedback. It has a lot of great info in it.

They say if you play a Microsoft CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing, cause if you play it forwards, it installs Windows.

Thanks, apparently there is no password needed like I thought. Once I typed in <sudo su> it took me to the root cursor. I had tried sudo and su alone but not in combination.

Nah, from cd, its not needed unless you are logging in remotely via ssh, for example. Besides, you'd have to redo it every time you boot.

If you do a HD install, you have to set the password for root and dsl anyways.
