You may want to try using a boot floppy, and set up your bios to boot from the floppy. If you dont know how to make one, all you have to do is get the boot disk image, which you can get where you download the iso. I'm pretty sure this is the current boot image. Then, if you are in windoze, you find a program called rawwrite (google it) to write the image to a floppy.

I don't think the disk needs to be finalized as long as the session is closed. However, I could be wrong on this. I read somewhere that older hardware may have trouble reading CD-RW media, so if you are using that, you may want to try a CD-R instead.
