you can add most of this to /opt/bootlocal.sh to start it automatically.
monkey is
/opt/monkey/bin/banana start
ssh is
/etc/init.d/ssh start
for your network, you can use ifconfig.
If I rememeber correctly...
ifconfig eth0 ifconfig <ip address> netmask <netmask> ifconfig broadcast <ip subnet> if config on
