EDIT: since you mention poorman, there is a difference...if you're talking about running DSL from the CD.  The disk needs to be accessed each time you start a new application, and since CDs are slower than harddrives it takes a little longer to start apps.  Plus you need to run toram if you want to use the cdrom drive.

It is not possible to fit all of the kernel driver modules that appear in the livecd minirt and squeeze them into a single floppy disk.
