no but in xsetup.sh it will ask you if you have a usb mouse...so setting it that way should work

Brian,

It worked "straight out of the box" when I did it.  I probably set ps/2 or something when I ran xsetup.sh.  All I wanted at the time was to change the resolution and I had another (ps/2) mouse hooked up as well so I did not worry about it.  But the usb cordless mouse worked right off the bat untill I made the changes myself.

What I am hoping to find out from Nonamer475 is if the USB mouse is recognized at startup because if he can't get it to work it may be that it is not getting recognized and not being added as a device.

Do other USB devices work when you use DSL?  Try Downloading USBView.dsl and install that.  When you run USBView you can see that your HUB is recognized and what devices are attached.

It seems to work well with my usb pen drive, and i do think it reconized my mouse, but still nothing. As to usb view, I don't think it will work (no mouse buttons remember?). I tried my liveCD on a computer at school and it worked fine with a optical ps/2 mouse.

What brand of mouse do you have?

The mouse works under another OS or on another system?

Does your mouse have connect buttons (button on the receiver and a little indent to push on the mouse)?

If your mouse works under another OS have you done a search on yahoo/google/etc... for issues with your mouse and linux?

Do you have access to a ps/2 mouse for testing?

The mouse I used is from a dell system, not sure of the specific brand.  If your mouse is being recognized it should be displayed around the autoconfig line (or close to it) at boot up.
