My appologies in advance if this turns out to be the noobiest question ever, and if the answer is screaming at me in the face while pokeing me with a cattle prod and pouring salt in my wounds. Here it goes: I downloaded dsl to get a feel for what linux was like and see if i wanted to use linux instead of windows.
I downloaded it throgh bittorrent and burnt it to a disk as a .iso image file useing alcohol 120%. DSL boooted up fine, but when i tried to click on the browser(that i belive starts up when dsl is first ran?) nothing happened. the only thing i could do was scroll up and down on the page (useing pg up and pg down buttons). Any help? Plz?

Try running the "xsetup.sh" command, choosing a different mouse protocol, then restart X ("exit" from the menu and then type in "startx").

Huh.  Why?  Did you boot with the dsl xsetup option to run xsetup.sh, or are you saying it failed because you had no mouse to get to the menu?  You can get out of X by hitting <CTRL><ALT><DEL> and then try running xsetup.sh in that terminal as well.  I assume that you listened to mikshaw's advice and exited and restarted the window manager.  If you use <CTL><ALT<DEL>, you need to type startx to restart the window manager.

What kind out mouse do you have?  Does it have a wheel?  Is it a USB mouse?  Is it a PS2 mouse?  There are lots of mice to choose from in xsetup.
