Newbie problem:

I'm running DSL from a USB key.
I'm am able to backup/restore general settings.
DSL works fine but ...

I have setup my networked HP printer and I am able to print  :)

What directories/files are needed in order to restore printer configuration?

TIA.

This has been answered before but I don't remember the solution.

Try searching the forums for kewords "printer AND restore", search ALL FORUMS and search FROM THE BEGINNING or NEWER.

Add these three to your filetool.lst
My printer's name is the default lp so the last entry will vary to whatever you named your printer.

opt/printcap
opt/apsfilter/
var/spool/lpd/lp/

cbagger01:
I have tried searching high and low. I know all about this boards search engine facilities. I could'nt find an answer so I bothered everyone with my question.
But thanks for your reply.

roberts: I also chose the default lp as the name for my printer. I tried to backup various dirs but I was doubtful about the /var/spool.

I'll just test this: ..........................

booting ...

configuring printer ...
printing ...

rebooting ...
and printing!

Many thanks!
