What I have: Toshiba Satellite Pro 425CDS (circa 1996 or so =) ) 24 mb RAM Pentium 1 I believe the soundcard is an ESS688 Using DSL 0.7.1 i think (HD install)
I'm trying to get the lxDoom .dsl to play music. I used apt-get to install lxmusserv because I didn't see a .dsl for it. Now when I run doom it says that /dev/sequencer is busy. I tried fuser -v /dev/sequencer, but that returned nothing. The game still plays with sound, but no music. Other programs using MIDI (I assume that's what doom is using) do not work either. If it's any help, the way I'm getting any sound at all is I put "modprobe sb" into my /opt/bootlocal.sh. Is there another module I can/should load? Is there a solution? Any help is appreciated, and thanks.
