Sorry, i'm a bit new at this. I am running on a Dell CPi D266 laptop.

How do I get DSL to save myDSL programs? I know about the.filetool.lst, but It dosent seem to work.
What does a typical .filetool.lst file took like to save things such as background, firefox settings, boot options(can you save these?), etc.

You need to specify a backup device when you run the backup/restore menu choice.

For example, a usb pendrive might be:

sda1

and a floppy disk might be:

fd0

and a hard drive partition might be:

hda1

etc

Will that restore the things only listed in the .filetool.lst file or will it keep myDSL programs as well?

If not, will putting in the downloaded myDSL file re-install it at startup, or do I need to find where it is installed and add that to filetool.lst?

Hi
I think you need to look into the boot option mydsl=  .  By storing your extension files on disk and then specifying where to find them at boot time the system will load them automagically.
good luck

I'm a little confused about this too.  Fruggle install here.  I've got mydsl=hda2 and all that.  In emelFM, the path is mapped as /mnt/hda2 with
home/
lost+found/
opt/
backup.tar.gz

available as choices.  Now from what I read, any dsl extension dropped in this directory will show up in my menu.

1) Is this true?

2) The folder will not let me move anything to this level of the directory or make a new folder there.  What can I do?

3) I've also read that there should be a folder called "optional" for my saved mydsl extensions to reside in.  I was led to believe this was different from /opt.  Is this correct?

4) Can I put .uci's anywhere so they automount?

5) I ran gtk2-0705.dsl from the mydsl part of the menu.  Is that all I need to do?  Should I move it someplace to reside?  Can I check somewhere to make sure that it has been properly updated?

Sorry forthe barrage of questions, but I'm having a tough time getting answers that seem specific to my questions.
