hi, keeping up to the latest kenerel and software may not always be a good idea.. Same goes with GTK... or other apps... Sometimes they get better but bigger as well and most of the times efficiency decreases (what is 'ok' since hardware usually develops faster than software). It may be better for this small, efficient, low-end, 50-MB dist. not to 'keep up' . The latest Knoppix is to much of everything for my mainmachine almost. Its up-to-date. An uses what it gets.
