I haven't actually used knoppix before.

Am I to understand that knoppix pre-installs everything on the iso?
How does knoppix save the user data?

knoppix lets you save the config files to hd and/or create a persistent file on the hd for the usr. Works well, but as has been said, It runs slower than dsl on older machines.

Torp..Hey, I'm glad you are excited about k5 but I was not compareing dsl and knoppix. I was pointing out that knoppix was loaded with excessive duplication..
.it does need a powerfull unit to run well... and needs.. a good note pad, a mediun fast loading text editer with spell check, and a full blown word processor....Joe, mary,and jane added to that is just bloat.
.I agree it has a lot of cool stuff..maby they deleted the bloat in 5..will get on that...any way enjoy..it's just talk
