i have found a supplier for used/abused dell systems. these are P4's and P3's that have had the hard drive removed. most of them are gx-240's, gx-260's, and xps-700's. they have ram, dvd drives, whatever crappy intergrated video dell uses, etc. looks like i can get them a dozen at a time cheap...dirt cheap. would like to have a couple for myself....just wondering if anyone else would be interested.....let me know

FYI

The gx260's will give you a hard time because they have the stupid Intel 845G series integrated graphics.

Most likely, you will either need to bootup in lower res:

dsl vga=normal xsetup
Choose 640x480x16bit

or install XFree86.dsl to get higher res/color depth.

got the machines yesterday. 4 optiplex gx-260's and 8 optiplex gx-240's.......boy are they ugly and beat up. rigged one of each with a monitor, powered up and set bios to boot to cd. DSL booted up fine on both machines with no cheat codes. wow does dsl liveCD fly on a 2.4 ghz machine...wow.
