Simple Cursor Change
While i haven't succeeded in using any of the more complex xfree cursors in DSL's Xvesa server (yet), there is a way to make a quick change to the cursor displayed on the root window using the default cursor file. Most of them are not very usable as a generic cursor, but i sometimes like to use a heart or circle once in a while. It's also useful if you run a minimal window manager that doesn't give you anything but the big ol' X
You can set the root cursor with this command:
Code Sample | xsetroot -cursor_name <name> |
where <name> is a name from the list below. Fluxbox and JWM automatically set the root cursor, so you will need to run the command manually after the windowmanager loads.
