Hello,
Anybody using a logitech CLICK! optical mouse?
It's a logitech USB optical mouse with wheel

It did not work with the XF86Config-4_vesa file that came with xfree86 on mydsl. In fact that file was set up like two mice were on the computer I believe. Anyway, I've tried several other mouse sections in the file that I've found on the net or in some of the other config files that came with the xfree86 package on my dsl and I can't get any of them to work. X starts and I have no control over the mouse.

I guess I've been pampered too much in the past where distros set up xfree 86 for me and it just works.

Is there an app to auto-detect my hardware and write this file?

Anyone know what to put in the file so my mouse works? I want to get my nvidia accelaration up and going and check out the games!

Thanks!

there's a xf86config tool in the myDSL repository.  It won't auto-detect your hardware, but will give you some pretty thorough lists of harware from which to choose.

I am a complete n00b,  DSL is registering a PS2 mouse and I have a USB.  Would the same tool work for me and could you please explain how I can access it?

If it's just a matter of getting your mouse to work with the included xserver (not xfree86), you can probably accomplish this with the xsetup script.
