I'd like to use an old IBM server that has an Adaptec SCSI controller with a small (40gig) hardrive for a hard drive install. I boot off of the CD and then open a prompt and type cfdisk. I am getting a message that no hard drive is found. I did this prevoiusly with an old IBM workstation with ATA drives and I was able to see the partion and delete it.
Does Damn Small support SCSI drives? If yes, how do I get it loaded?

Thnx :(

DSL v1.5 and prior supported some scsi devices.
SCSI is not that popular and is too large for the new larger kernel and modules. We added SATA had to drop SCSI. However, all the scsi modules compiled for DSL v2.x can be found in the additional_modules.tar.gz which you can find here.

Probably best to try to place your required modules onto a floppy and boot with expert boot option.

Thanks for the reply. Is there another flavor of Linux I might try for this old server? I was looking to do an HD install which    looks like I would be paddling upstream

DSL 1.5, knoppix or even DSL 2.0 (but for DSL 2.0 you will need to manually add the module for the SCSI driver to your initial ramdisk) will work fine.
