The easiest thing to do is add the path to your new XF86Config-4 file to the .filetool.lst file and use backup/restore along with your new .xserverrc file.
So, put your new XF86Config-4 file in /etc/X11 and your new .xserverrc in the proper places, test to see if they work properly, add to /home/dsl/.filetool.lst, manually run the backup process from the DSL Control Panel and you should be all set as long as you have the xfree86.dsl loading up at boot time.
